The SADC region stakeholder workshop on experiences and lessons learnt on REDD+ was launched today 25th July 2022 at the National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC), Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania.
The workshop was officially opened by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance and Administration) of Sokoine University of Agriculture Prof Amandus P. Muhairwa, on behalf of Prof Raphael T. Chibunda, the Vice Chancellor of the Sokoine University of Agriculture.
The objectives of the workshop are:
- To share experiences among the Member States on REDD+ initiatives, and country experiences on projects implemented during the REDD+ Readiness pilot projects.
- To share experiences on emerging market/business opportunities linked to REDD+ and countries’ preparedness in taping result-based market opportunities.
The four SADC delegates such as Angola, Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and the Director of Forestry and Beekeeping (FBD) of Tanzania Dr. Ezekiel E. Mwakalukwa managed to attend the workshop onsite at the National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC), Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania.
