What’s New in India’s Climate Change Strategy?
- Last August, India updated its NDC with two major climate goals:
- Reduce the intensity of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) emissions by 45% from 2005 levels by 2030.
By 2030, non-fossil fuel-based energy resources should account for approximately half of total installed electric power capacity. - It met its goal of generating 40% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2021.
